About Me
Hi, I’m Lauren, a licensed psychotherapist based in New York City and a proud graduate of the Silver School of Social Work at NYU. I also completed postgraduate training at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy. I provide a warm, collaborative space for people navigating life’s challenges—whether you're feeling anxious or overwhelmed, stuck in old patterns, struggling in relationships, or simply seeking a deeper understanding of yourself.
My therapeutic style is open-minded, grounded, and engaged. I bring a blend of evidence-based tools and deep listening to our work together. I’m trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), internal family systems (IFS), psychodynamic psychotherapy and couples counseling, tailoring my approach to each unique individual. I meet you where you are—whether you’re looking for concrete coping strategies, emotional regulation skills, or space to explore your inner world and past experiences.
I often work with people who are asking:
-
Why do I feel this way when everything seems “fine” on the outside?
-
Why am I so overwhelmed by thoughts I can’t seem to turn off?
-
Who am I when I’m not constantly trying to meet others’ expectations?
-
What would it feel like to speak freely, without being judged or “fixed”?
-
I feel totally stuck and am longing for change, but where do I start?
-
Why do I keep repeating patterns in relationships?
Luckily you don’t need to have the answers when you come to therapy—just a little curiosity and the willingness to begin. Our work is a conversation, not a performance. Together, we’ll explore what has been holding you back and help you move toward a life that feels more honest, connected, and whole.
I welcome clients of all identities and backgrounds. Whether this is your first time in therapy or you're returning after a break, I’d be honored to support you in the process of change.

What Sets Me Apart

Why choose me as your therapist, among the many qualified clinicians in New York? Well, aside from having completed additional postgraduate training, I am not rigid and offer flexibility in my approach. I never force any specific therapeutic modality upon anyone, as I recognize that each person is unique and can respond differently depending upon a therapist's intervention. I also know that people are at varying stages of the therapeutic process, which can influence their preferences. Due to my breadth of training and nearly two decades as a psychotherapist, I can seamlessly incorporate various treatment approaches, switching gears as needed.

Even more importantly though, is that I genuinely care about and am fully invested in each person who sees me for therapy. After all, research has shown that the client-therapist connection is the most predictive of therapeutic outcome.
